Replacement coils for the Lite AIO are specific to the unit : they will not fit any other e-cig and there is no other coil made by any other manufacturer that will fit the Stealth Vape . . . that doesn't include cloned copies of course, they'd fit, maybe . . . and they might even work for a little while, but I wouldn't want to be relying on a cloned copy . . . just sayin'
So it's full and correct title is a CLOCC Sub Ohm Coil which translated into human speak means it's a Child Lock Organic Cotton Coil Sub Ohm Coil . . . somebody got a bit excited with the coil word I think . . .
Anyway, it's specially designed to work with the child lock on the Stealth Vape and it's huge, measuring around 32mm in length.
If you have a close look at it, you'll note that the bottom end of the coil is closed off, with only 2 small slots to allow for the flow of liquid as you inhale. You'll also see that there is a white rubber seal on the bottom of the coil. Do not remove this seal, it is not an optional extra. If you remove the seal, you will most likely find that the coil will leak mercilessly and you'll have a hell of a mess on your hands.
I have absolutely no idea why you would want to remove a seal that obviously has a purpose in it's little seal life, but people have been known to do it and to suffer the consequences of poking around in stuff they shouldn't have been. If you want to pull one apart to see how it works, wait until it's passed into coil heaven and then do an autopsy.
So, just above the bottom of the coil, you'll see 2 larger round holes which you can see the white Organic Cotton through. Those 2 holes are where you need to put the 2 - 3 drops of liquid to start the wetting process when you're priming a coil. Yep, it is a large sucker and the Organic Cotton runs the full length of the body, so there's quite a lot in there to soak with liquid. Priming the coil begins the process which will be complete when the coil is screwed into place and the Tank is filled with liquid. Whenever you open the Tank, whether filling or replacing a coil, make sure that the coil is tightly screwed in and flush with the Top Cap and Mouthpiece Assembly : any gaps will allow liquid to leak out.
This is just a theory until I can confirm it with my new BFF at JOMO Tech, but I'm assuming that the 3 slots around the top inner edge of the coil are part of the child lock mechanism.
Being 0.4 ohm coils with a working range of 10W - 40W, they'll only draw a moderate amount of power, meaning you shouldn't have to recharge it daily, depending, of course, on the amount of use your e-cig gets and whether you're vaping light or darker liquids. Darker liquids require a little more heat to vaporise efficiently, so slightly more power is used than when vaping light coloured or clear liquids.
To replace the coil, press down on the Air Flow Control Ring and turn to deactivate the child lock. Continue to unscrew the All-In-One Atomiser and remove it from the Stealth Vape body. Unscrew the spent coil and screw in a new one. Make sure it's tightly screwed in place and prime the coil before returning the All-In-One Atomiser to the body of the Stealth Vape. Screw the Atomiser into place the push down on the Air Flow Control Ring and turn to reactivate the child lock. Easy As. I'm pretty sure that if my cat had thumbs, I could teach her to change the coils in this model.
Available for purchase as a single coil or in a pack of 5.
Important Bits You Need To Remember About The Coils
[Pay attention now, this stuff is really important, seriously]
* NEVER dry fire these coils. If you hit the fire button when the coil isn't immersed in liquid, you'll just burn it out, pretty much instantly : it only takes a couple of seconds to burn when it's completely dry and just as a side note, it absolutely reeks when it burns and the smell hangs around for a while too . . . nasty . . .
* NEVER let the liquid level in the Tank fall below the round holes in the sides of the coil [the priming holes if you like]. If the liquid level does fall below the holes, the Organic Cotton inside the coil will begin to dry out. Do not use the unit until you've refilled the Tank and the coil is totally immersed in liquid again. Best practice is to never let the Tank liquid level fall below 1/4 of a Tank.
* Prime each new coil and let the unit stand for a few minutes after filling to ensure that all of the Organic Cotton inside the coil body becomes completely wet. You may notice that the liquid level will go down fairly dramatically when you put in a new coil : remember to make sure that once the coil is fully wet, there is still enough liquid in the Tank to completely cover the coil or more specifically, the priming holes at the very least.
* Best practice is to use a cloth or tissue to remove the spent coil, they're best not grabbed bare handed cause it'll be covered in liquid and you don't want to get liquid on your hands if you can help it. You can also go for tweezers or pliers to remove the coils, but make sure that the ends of said tweezers or pliers are small enough not to touch the Glass Tank when you remove the coil. When you put the new coil in, you can tighten it with the tweezers or pliers but take care not to damage the thread at the top of the coil and not to over tighten it.
If you are going to remove and replace the coil by hand only, be aware that the top of the coil can be sharp [because of the thread cut into it, there can be a sharp point where the thread starts], so take care not to cut yourself. Remember girls and boys, "Saftey First" . . .
And you can wrap the spent coil up in the gloves to save having liquid dripping out into your rubbish bin.
* It is recommended that the coils be replaced every 2 - 3 weeks, however, JOMO Tech goes further to suggest that the coils be cleaned in warm water, not boiling, weekly if the user is a very heavy vaper.
If you go with the bathing the coil ritual, it is suggested that you can extend the coil life in excess of a month or so.
PLEASE NOTE : If you do go with the bathing ritual, the coils must be completely dry before you return them to use and washed coils will need to be primed again before being used.
Just as a side note and a bit of a Captain Obvious moment, but make sure you dispose of spent coils by wrapping them up or sealing them in a plastic bag so that any excess liquid will not contaminate your bin.
And here's the second Captain Obvious point : don't leave spent coils anywhere children or pets can access them.
