So the pattern printed on the Battery of the Royal 30 is the actual circuit and wiring diagram for the unit itself . . . unusual, but it looks great.
JOMO Tech gives us the next generation in vape pens with the Royal range of e-cigs. The Royal 30 is chunkier [18 mm diameter] and shorter [108 mm] to give a discreet profile, but comfortable in the hand, beautifully balanced [200 g] and an absolute dream to vape.
The 1300mAh Battery is fixed at 30W to ensure that maximum power is given to the Coil to vaporise liquids efficiently. It has all the usual protection features : short circuit protection, over heating protection, over charging auto shut off and auto shut off if the fire button is held down for more than 10 seconds.
To charge the Royal 30 Battery, connect the Micro USB Charger Cable to the port in the side of the Battery and connect to a USB wall plug or adapter, or your computer. While the Battery is charging, it will show a red LED light around the fire button which will change to blue when the Battery is fully charged. Taking around 1 - 3 hours to charge, you'll get 5 - 6 hours of continuous use [we're talking the mouthpiece never leaves your face for any more time than it takes to exhale and prepare to inhale again] or up to a month of occasional use. Personally, I got about 4 - 5 days out of one charge, vaping what I call moderately . . . using it all day, but not having it in my hand all the time . . . probably had a few puffs every 1/2 to 3/4 hour or so . . . anyway, I thought the battery life was pretty damn amazing. I've never gotten that much vape time out of any other battery I've ever owned.
As is always the case with any battery, best practice is to fully charge the battery before using it for the first time. Don't use any cable other than the Charger Cable supplied with the unit : using another cable may damage the unit and will void your warranty.
If you're using your computer to charge your e-cig, make sure that you are using a high speed, high voltage port : using a low speed or low voltage port may result in the battery not charging properly. If you're unsure of the voltage of your USB ports, check your computer's user manual or Google it . . .
The Royal 30 Tank is a top filling tank with the all-in-one design : the coil screws into the base of the Tank and the Mouthpiece and Air Flow Control are in one piece. Having said that, you can remove the Mouthpiece and replace it with any other 510 mouthpiece you like or you can change the factory installed Mouthpiece over to the spare heat insulated Mouthpiece supplied in the Kit.
To adjust the Air Flow Control to suit your style of vaping, rotate the ring to expose or cover more or less of the holes on either side of the Top Cap. Exposing more of the holes will allow more air into your draw, making it an easy draw and producing more vapor : covering the holes will restrict the flow of air, make the draw more difficult and produces less vapor.
To fill the Royal 30 Tank, unscrew and remove the Top Cap and Air Flow Control Assembly.
Pour liquid directly into the Tank up to about 2 - 3 mm below the top of the Tank. Screw the Top Cap and Air Flow Assembly back on. Done.
If this is a first time fill, you'll need to 'prime' the coil. The Coils are much larger and of a different design than earlier sub ohm coils, an amount of liquid is held in the base of the Coil to prevent dry hits, so taking into account the size and stored amount of liquid, they take a little longer than usual to become fully wet.
So to 'prime' the coil, you put 2 - 3 drops of liquid into the holes in the sides of the coil. You can also run a couple of drops into the top of the coil, however you don't want to just pour it down into the coil. Best practice is to hold your needle bottle on an angle with the needle tip underneath the top lip of the coil, pointing towards the outside of the coil, Apply a light pressure to the liquid bottle and rotate the bottle around the top of the coil, keeping the needle tip under the lip . . . it's kind of like drawing a circle with the needle tip . . . well, sort of
And replacing a Coil is no more difficult. Again, you unscrew the Top Cap and Air Flow Assembly and remove it. You'll need a pair of long nose pliers, some long tweezers or a tissue or paper towel at least, to unscrew the spent coil and remove it. Prime the new coil and screw it in to place, making sure it's tight and sealed properly against the base. Screw the Top Cap and Air Flow Assembly back on and wait a few moments to ensure that the Coil becomes fully wet.
There are a couple of things you need to remember about these Coils :
* Never let the liquid level fall below the holes in the sides of the coil - you will get dry hits if this happens and you will most likely burn the coil out to boot.
* Never dry fire these coils, you will just burn the Organic Cotton inside : the coil must always be immersed in liquid
* It is recommended that the coils be replaced every 2 - 3 weeks, however, JOMO Tech goes further to suggest that the coils be cleaned in warm, not boiling, water weekly if the user is a very heavy vaper.
If you go with the bathing the coil ritual, it is suggested that you can extend the coil life to a month or so.
PLEASE NOTE : If you do go with the bathing ritual, the coils must be completely dry before you return them to use and washed coils will need to be primed again before being used.
